No matter how hot it gets, we’ve got you covered!
We’ve been getting a lot of shipping questions lately, so we thought we’d share some updates & info about how we get chocolate from our warehouse in Haarlem, the Netherlands to you across Europe, so you know what to expect when you order.
Hot Weather & Chocolate
Shipping meltable chocolate is a challenge when temperatures exceed 24 ºC. To get it to you in tip-top shape, each order needs to be packed with 1 or more ice packs and sealed up in special insulated shipping cartons. We also need to send all orders so that they are in transit 3 days or less – longer than that, and the ice & insulation aren’t effective.
Hot Weather Holds
To make sure our ice and insulation protects your delicious chocolate, we need to make sure your order isn’t sitting in a non-temperature-controlled DPD facility over a weekend. This means we often have to “hold” orders during summer months. Orders going to addresses outside the DPD 1 – 2 day shipping zones can’t be shipped on Thursdays and Fridays, because they’d end up sitting mid-journey over a weekend. This can sometimes add additional delays.
Standard shipping terms apply, there is NO extra charge for warm weather packaging!
